Voted Down Because...
Before you all get judgemental on me, let me say something: these attacks on David are uncalled for. He is not by any means a Microsoft Shill, and the things said about him in this article are very rude and hurtful.
Lefty was one of the people who stood up and spoke out against sexism in the Free Software community after Gran Canaria. Regardless of the fact that he likes Mono and has his own personal opinions about how to do things, I find it to be extremely unfair to him that he is being put down by so many Free Software enthusiasts for standing up for something he truly believes in. Sexism, or really discrimination of any kind, should be discouraged especially in the FOSS community, of all places. We as developers need to embrace one another with open arms if we want to succeed.
All he asked for was an apology from RMS to apologize to the women that attended that conference. Quite a few of those said women spoke up on their own blogs about how they felt alienated at this year's GCDS. A simple apology would make this problem much smaller, and it would at least help raise awareness to remove this ugly sore on the Free Software community.
I see pursuing and attacking someone for their views and opinions on a journalism site to be immoral. That is why I voted this piece down. (But hey now, to be fair I occasionally vote BN articles up.)
