Vector Linux is a Slackware-based distribution that aims to offer the Linux user a unique, friendly experience combined with the well-known stability of the Slackware family. Keep it simple and keep it small.

I've been impressed with Vector Linux in the past, though strangely moreso with their free version than the paid edition. They've generally offered a nice low-power alternative for older boxes and those of us with newer boxes who just like efficiency. I was interested to see what (if anything) had changed since the last time I looked at it.

Vector Linux is a lightweight Linux distribution based on Slackware Linux. Today the SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) Edition of Vector Linux 6.0 was released, this edition is targeted at modern computers in an office environment.

I published a review on the new Slackware 13.0, which I really didn’t like for numerous reasons. However, I did a search for Slackware based distros, to see whether the base ideas could be built upon. Slackware itself is higly stable and customisable, but maybe another developer could mix these attributes with usability.
