I have followed the evolution of ubuntu lucid on intel chipsets, since january, using many displays , some different intel chipsets (i915GM,GM45)  , vertical usage 19 inches displays.

It probably now sounds like a cliche, but the Lucid Lynx is the best release Canonical has come out with since its inception. The following 5 lessons can be gleaned from the overwhelming success of Ubuntu 10.04.

Two weeks after the release of the second beta, the Ubuntu developers have announced the availability of a release candidate (RC) for what will become Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, code named "Lucid Lynx"

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx Release Candidate is available for download.

There aren't many visual changes since Beta 2, but it's still interesting to see how Ubuntu evolves.

What's the best new feature coming to Lucid? You could even call this one Lucid's killer feature.

Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu and so on are getting lots of attention but it seems everybody is forgetting about Xubuntu so I decided to make a screenshot tour of Xubuntu. I never used XFCE so my notes are from the point of view of someone used to Gnome (so I'll underline the difference between XFCE and Gnome too - or Ubuntu and Xubuntu if you want).
