With the birth of Free Software Movement started by Richard Stallman & his supporter’s, & an important decision taken by Linus Torvalds by licensing Linux kernel under GPL has revolutionized the computing world to an extent without which the computing world hadn’t taken it’s glorious form what we see today.

In 2010 the international Document Freedom Day was celebrated for the first time in Slovenia. For that occasion the FSFE Fellowship group Slovenia decided to give a DFD "thank you" cake to the Supreme Court of Slovenia for their amazing and hard work in using (only) open standards and open documents in courts.

For eight years now, the Free Software Foundation Europe has been working tirelessly for basic rights and freedoms in an increasingly software-driven society. The 11th of March 2009 sees another major milestone passed, with its 2^3 (eighth) birthday being celebrated by its friends, Fellows and associates.
