X.org 7.6 released

The X.Org Foundation and the global community of X.Org developers announce the release 7.6 of the X Window System. This release is the seventh modular release of the X Window System. The next full release will be X11R7.7 and is expected in 2011. X11R7.6 supports GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, MacOS X, Microsoft Windows and GNU Hurd systems.

Pocketing Police (PayPal confiscates Xorg funds)

Preliminary opensource driver for the ATI R500-based cards

Jerome Glisse announced today that a small team of X.Org developers has managed to provide the initial support for ATI R500-based cards (ATI Radeon X1300 up to X1600 at the time) by reverse engineering. The released code is definitely not yet ready for the normal users, but it's the big step ahead nevertheless.
