Whistleblower site Cryptome.org shut down by Microsoft over leaked surveillance doc
Network Solutions shut off the lights in response to a DMCA notice, after Cryptome published a 22-page Microsoft document outlining how the company stores private user data in its web-connected servers. The document also explains how government agencies can access that personal data.

Corporate lobbying against free software.
It’s rare to find, then, a brochure produced with the intent of talking down free software as a whole. However, Wikileaks has turned up just such a document: the SirsiDynix brochure against “open source” library software, distributed on a restricted basis to certain customers. In particular, they’re raging against the likes of Evergreen and Koha.

Germany deletes WikiLeaks.de domain after raid
"On April 9th 2009, the internet domain registration for the investigative journalism site Wikileaks.de was suspended without notice by Germany's registration authority DENIC. The action comes two weeks after the house of the German WikiLeaks domain sponsor, Theodor Reppe, was searched by German authorities.

Free Speech Advocates Mount Legal Battle to Unchain Wikileaks
"It is difficult to imagine how freedom of press has meaning if a press source can be put out of business for publishing something someone does not like," said Wayne Matus, an intellectual property and privacy litigator at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. "It will be interesting to see if the judge has legal authority to justify his actions or reverses his opinion in view of [Wednesday's] motions for reconsideration."
