I love jQuery. It's not like there aren't other JavaScript libraries out there, but jQuery was the first I became involved with and so far, it's solved every web design problem I've encountered. Of course, I usually go searching for a jQuery solution on the web when I have such a problem. That's why I was looking forward to O'Reilly's jQuery Cookbook.

I read this poor review of Mandriva Linux 2010 (the only poor review I’ve seen so far actually), which I got a bit provoked about, not that much because I’m taking things personal, but it’s rather more about stupid people pisses me off!

When Slackware 13 came a few months ago on the LXF magazine, I decided to throw it into Virtualbox to see how it has changed. One difference this time around is that I now have the dual core machine so I am running Slackware on that machine.

Today I’d like to talk about my experiences with Fedora 12 over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been running it as my main desktop and really getting a feel for how it ticks. Fedora is the community release from corporate Linux giants Red Hat. I’ve used it on and off since its inception back in the early 2000’s, it’s fair to say there have been big highs and lows in that time.

This week the Fedora community announced the availability of the Fedora 12 beta. We took a look under the hood and explored some of the important technical features, including significant improvements to virtualization and netbook support.

KDE 4.3 was released this week with a number of intriguing improvements. Ars test the new version, which introduces KDE's Social Desktop initiative, an effort to bring social networking integration to the popular desktop environment.

GoboLinux is a Linux distribution I heard about from a friend who said that it looked interesting for its flagship property - a simpler file structure. I decided to check it out. I downloaded the distribution ISO from their website, which was easy enough, and booted up VirtualBox with that ISO mounted as a drive.
