From the same guy as "Why 100% Free SOftware Destroys Linux": "There are many fantastic Open Source projects out there. But just how do they get the funding they need to continue and expand development?"

I Give Up. Windows Is Proof That People Are Too Stupid To Use Computers.
And too stupid or dishonest to report Microsoft Windows as the defective disaster that it is. If it were any other type of product it would have banned from every country in the world long ago.

“What’s your primary Linux distribution of choice?“. Every time I talk with my neighborhood’s friends, this is one of the usual questions always come up… always! Fatal Windows 7 Flaw Will Bolster Linux Netbooks
First, let me point out that I think Microsoft has done a reasonably good job developing Windows 7. Most early buzz about the operating system was positive. But when it comes to running Windows 7 on netbooks, Microsoft has made a fatal design decision that will open the door for more Linux netbooks. Skeptical? Consider the evidence.

The semantic web as an operating system: with users and permissions!
In the near future, the semantic web data will be precisely tagged and thus a whole lot easier to find. This will further spur the trend of the web and global society becoming tight networks that are increasingly interdependent and transparent. Do we have to sacrifice anonymity on the web in order to retain trust for collaboration?

Digital “Restrictions” Management
"I had the good fortune of attending a lecture by Free Software Foundation President and Founder, Richard Stallman. Stallman often makes distinctions between free in the monetary sense and free in the civil rights sense. His talk focused on freedom in a civil rights sense. While his focus was on software, the most important parts of his talk for me were his statements on art..."

How Vista's total failure hurt Linux
Once I got a good look at Vista, I knew desktop Linux was in for good times. Vista was, and still is, a disaster of an operating system. I was right too. When netbooks started coming out, it was Linux, not Vista, that ruled.

So here we are, entering another year- and no doubt at some point during this year, more than one person will declare it the "year of the Linux desktop". Of course it won't happen and those who consider themselves free software opponents will soon let us know. Some things will never change. That said, is there any reason to suspect it might be different this year?

Windows in hospitals... a bad combination
I really cannot understand why hospitals, who ultimately deal with human lives are allowed to use MS-Windows on their networks. Even a simple delay in looking up if a person has a allergy for a given drug can prove to be fatal.

"It’s a new year, and Free Software is more ubiquitous and important than ever. At the same time, the work is far from over. Here’s something inspiring you can read to stimulate some deep thoughts about the nature of Free Software: an essay from 1958, “I, Pencil.” ..."
