Somehow, somewhere along the way, I'm supposed to have matured and become serious about things. And so it is with Linux. It all started out in fun. I know. I've got Linus Torvalds' "Just for Fun" here on my bookshelf. Says so right there on the front cover. Fun. And it was fun. But as with anyone approaching adulthood, Linux was apparently not taking itself seriously enough.

We think Red Hat is a great place to work and our associates from Buenos Aires to Brno to Boston are proud to hang their hats each day at Red Hat’s many offices across the globe. Red Hat’s technologies drive some of the world’s largest enterprises, and the company’s development has been fueled by the power of the open source model.

When would one expect an organisation like the Free Software Foundation to be really relevant to the world of computing at large - when there is a limited threat to freedom in computing or when the threat is increasing exponentially?

I know it sounds crazy. Fedora is more a test bed for the enterprise-grade RHEL. Fedora is cutting edge software that evokes images of users fixing more issues than enjoying user-friendly software. Fedora is for those who already know, Ubuntu is for those that do not. Right? Wrong.

I love Linux, I love FLOSS. I love the ideas behind them, and what drives the community. Why am I so critical during my reviews then?
