Red Hat graphic designers are no strangers to the pains of proprietary formats. Over the years, many have lost photographs, archived projects, and important portfolio work when formats have been changed. They’ve been forced to upgrade before they’re ready, too.

It seems there may have been more games played by Microsoft in the OOXML saga, or at the very least some confusion spread, and this time our story comes from Spain...

Self-explanatory. The organisation is particularly concerned with the situation in Australia;

It has been a boast for around around 6 months now. Microsoft's OOXML fully defines spreadsheet formulas, and ODF doesn't.

Under the name Sun ODF Plug-in for Microsoft Office, Sun has released its import/export filter for the OpenDocument format (ODF), which the ISO has recognized as a standard, for versions 2000, XP, and 2003 of Microsoft's Office suite; the plug-in can be downloaded via our software repository.

Denmark's government agencies will be required to handle two competing document format standards, the Open Document Format (ODF) and Microsoft Corp.'s Open XML, during a one-year test period that will begin next year.
