So what does python have to offer? It is a nice mix of procedural programming, object oriented and functional. That is what I love about it. It allows you to work in a mix of all three. It also seems that it is made by a bunch of people that understand that while flexibility is important (Perl code) you have to be able to READ and UNDERSTAND something written by another human being.

Why another scripting language for the desktop?
Stuart Langridge recently wrote about a new scripting language he was developing for the desktop...His idea is that you design a very simple language to access D-BUS resources to allow people to connect those resources in a simple way "without knowing how to program". This request pops up quite a lot: To provide scripting to the masses so to speak.

The importance of delivering localized Linux
What I want to say it’s quite obvious, if Linux vendors want to penetrate the newbies market, they must provide fully localized ISO images, there are no excuses. This is my point of view.

Customize your laptop keyboard with X and KDE
I am a Linux user, and I recently got an eMachines laptop. Since I'm Uruguayan, my mother tongue is Spanish, and that presented a problem: laptops usually have an American-style keyboard, and Spanish (as well as Portuguese, French, German, and other languages) requires some special keys that aren't on American keyboards.
