Today I happened upon a site I really, really wish had been there in 2000 when I started my own game project. Free software games often suffer from poorly-executing graphics, simply because it's a real challenge coordinating both the artistic and software needs of a project. Few developers are good at both, and so it makes sense to accumulate commonly-needed elements in one place.

Bordeaux 1.8.2 for FreeBSD Released
The Bordeaux Technology Group released Bordeaux 1.8.2 for FreeBSD today. Bordeaux 1.8.2 adds support for Apple's QuickTime 6.5.2 Player, IrfanView 4.25 the extreamly popular image viewer and editor. This release aslo bundles in Cabextract, Wget and Unzip to remove external dependencies.

Unusual physics engine game ported to Linux: The Penumbra Trilogy
The scary Penumbra game trilogy, has just recently been ported natively to GNU-Linux by the manufacturer, Frictional Games. The Penumbra games are first person survival horror and physics puzzle games which challenge the player to survive in a mine in Greenland which has been taken over by a monstrous thing.

Alien Arena 2009 Screenshots
