After 11 successful looks at Linux, I think I may have found my favorite... Arch Linux.

We see blog posts and articles everywhere. They proclaim that Distro X has the most users. Distro B has the most hits on a site that lists distros. Distro C is the top because Linus or some other "Geek God" prefers it.

Some people ask me from time to time what will Linux be after 6 months or a year, what changes are planned, which features will be implemented. The answer is actually very simple: Try Fedora.

Although for some reasons, there has been no announcement so far as I know, PCLinuxOS 2009 had been released. I guess it's time for first impressions.

I've had the pleasure of taking a special Debian 5.0 distribution (Debian 5.0 i386 XFCE LXDE) for a recent test drive as a virtual machine in Citrix XenServer 5.0.

When I write reviews of various Linux distributions and describe differences in performance I almost invariably get a comment to the effect that all Linux distros are essentially the same: running the same kernel, the same libraries, the same filesystems. Performance should be essentially the same, right?

I have been using Ubuntu since version 5.04 came out. And let me add, this is the damnest Linux distro out there today !! I was a Debian devotee but after 4 years of Ubuntu, now I am a born-again Ubuntu convert.
