Avant Window Navigator is Back, Quick Review and Installation in Ubuntu
Avant Window Navigator(AWN) has always been my favorite dock application. It was by far the most easy to use and far better looking dock application when compared to Gnome-Do or Cairo-Dock. But that was some years ago.

Avant Window Navigator (AWN) 0.4 Available For Beta Testing
After a few months of development, AWN (Avant Window Navigator) 0.4 is available for beta testing.
In case you don't know, Avant Window Navigator (Awn) is a dock-like bar which sits at the bottom of the screen (or at least it used to, read on!). It has support for launchers, task lists, and third party applets.

Adding Avant Window Navigator to your Ubuntu install
Avant Window Navigator, or AWN is a neat little dock that sits at the base of your monitor and looks exceedingly nice. It’s a great addition to your compiz-fusion install (in fact, you need compiz or something like it running for AWN to work).

Ubuntu Gutsy - AWN rocks!
I have played around with screenlets. Very nice, but nothing functional enough to grab me. But, AWN is something that looks good and I find very useful. The dock is stable and has good properties management. And there are now new applets being added at a rapid rate. New applets added in the last few days include a volume applet, CPU-meter applet, and GMail checking applet.
