ASUS is said to be embracing Linux for tablets, HP carries on with Linux in tablets (or another form factor), and Microsoft will use its own employees as guinea pigs for phones

Crave high-end audio, but use Linux? The situation surrounding this has been bad in the past, but that's not so much the case now, especially where ASUS' Xonar family of cards are concerned. Thanks to dedicated developers, the support today is just about as good as the audio quality.

Microsoft is right to warn about the danger of a serious monopoly in search because of Google's dominance. Maybe it is time to apply Microsoft's enlightened approach to monopolies to what is happening in its own backyard.

So ASUS decided to part way with Linux, the operating system that made the brand famous, to join forces with Microsoft. And they decided to make it in a very public way by stating a nice 'better with Windows campaign'. Well, sorry to disappoint you ASUS, but this is turning into a Public relation disaster!

They released the source code to that on an 8G surf model, but the 901 has additional hardware features in the ACPI space (bluetooth radio power toggle, for instance) that are not in the source they released back then. Available at computer sellers from "late June", the Eee 901 will retail for $649 and the 701 and 900 have been reduced to $479 and $549, respectively. According to ASUS, the Linux and Windows versions are the same price.
