Microsoft Office Crimes and Offenses Against Standards

http://boycottnovell.com

THE latest Microsoft Office crime happens to have earned Microsoft a conviction, unlike so many OOXML crimes that the European Commission has not yet addressed. Justice is slow, but sometimes it eventually arrives. There continues to be a lot of coverage of this all over the Web. The coverage which comes from ITWire calls it "price-fixing" and "collusion".

Novel's appellate brief filed: asks court of appeals to affirm lower court

http://www.groklaw.net

Novell has filed its brief in the appeal of SCO v. Novell. It's 87 pages, so I haven't read it yet myself. I'll swing back by after I read it. Questions About the Linux Kernel Personality (LKP) and the GPL

http://www.groklaw.net

I've been thinking about something. And I can't figure out the answer. Remember when SCO's Erik Hughes was deposed [PDF; text] in the SCO v. IBM litigation, he said that at first the LKP did have kernel code in it, but later it was taken out? So then why, when SCO announced it was stopping distribution of Linux in May of 2003, would it have needed to stop distributing the LKP also?
