This, presumably, means that future versions of the Eee PC could run a modified version of Debian, rather than a modified version of Xandros, as they currently do.

Red Hat Makes a GPL-Compatible Patent Deal

Red Hat has settled patent suits with Firestar Software, Inc., Amphion, and Datatern related to the jBoss Hibernate package on a patent covering the Object-Relational Database Model which Red Hat contested was not in Red Hat Linux.
