The Technical-Critique of gNewSense

http://lispmachine.wordpress.com

"I am posting a Critique of gNewSense from technical viewpoint. I am strictly in agreement with RMS on the concept of Free/OpenSource Software. I was happy when after a long time, finally, a 100% Libre distro named gNewSense was released. For this post I have kept Free Software issues aside and talk purely in terms of technical achievements..."

http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com

Consumer Darwinism and the Rise of FOSS

http://www.linuxtoday.com

One of the recurring themes that keeps popping up in the Linux community is this pressing need to get Linux on the desktop. I have often pondered in the past that such a goal is indeed worthy--once we actually figure out just exactly what "desktop" means.

Daniel Robbins: «my offer to resolve the most recent Gentoo leadership crisis»

http://blog.funtoo.org

"Here is my offer to resolve the most recent Gentoo leadership crisis, and is an offer I am making to the current Gentoo trustees, who are the ones who need to decide whether to accept or refuse it. [...] If I return as President, I will preserve the not-for-profit aspect of Gentoo. Beyond this, you can expect everything to be very, very different than how things are today. Here is a basic overview of the changes I will be making in how the Foundation operates, basically by refocusing on its core mission..."

Another week with Windows Vista

http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com

Many moons ago I tried using Windows for a week to see how the other half live. Despite my thorough openness and fairness, I still got criticized! (Well, it wouldn’t be the free software community if people didn’t, I suppose!) So, when I needed I new PC I decided to take the plunge and buy one.

The Fox And The Penguin

http://ventnorsblog.blogspot.com

While I am aware that there have already been numerous blog posts about how we are upping the ante for Firefox 3 for Linux, I'd like to take my own turn. I'm one of the people directly working on a lot of improvements to Firefox 3 especially on Linux and I would like to summarize in this post what I have done personally that you can all look forward to for Firefox 3.
