The future smartphone market will be driven by operating systems and user demand for functionality and "experiences" the phone can provide, according to industry analyst In-Stat. Corporate lobbying against free software.
It’s rare to find, then, a brochure produced with the intent of talking down free software as a whole. However, Wikileaks has turned up just such a document: the SirsiDynix brochure against “open source” library software, distributed on a restricted basis to certain customers. In particular, they’re raging against the likes of Evergreen and Koha.

Why open clouds are more important than open phones.
Free-software advocates want software on mobile phones be free, but with the increasing irrelevance of single-node freedom when it's tied into a network, should we not be more concerned with freedom between nodes, than with freedom of the nodes themselves? The real concern should be over open data, not open phones.
