Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on digg about installing LAMP. I thought I’d take some time and inform those who are unfamiliar what exactly LAMP is, and how it is powering the Web 2.0 revolution.

If you converted from Windows to Ubuntu like I did, chances are that you also installed the “Microsoft Core Fonts” (Times New Roman, etc) as I also did. However, recently, I discovered fonts that I actually like better than the Microsoft fonts!

Here's a topic I don't see a tutorial on anywhere. While Gimp is NOT a 3D ray-tracer, it does have some plug-ins that perform simple 3D functions. We're going to exploit the "Map Object" plug-in for all it's worth, here. Then we'll look at a more common method.

I have always considered myself a prospective PC to Apple switcher. I like the way that the Apple interface and hardware looks. But the 'just works' slogan that Apple promote just isn't true. I have had issues with my wi-fi router as well that I have never had with either Windows or Ubuntu machines. There are work-arounds, to be sure, but then don't say it 'just works'.

All European countries saw an increase in Firefox participation with Hungary showing the most dramatic increase from 27.2%, in the latest March 2007 survey, to 39.7%. Overall, Europe grew from 24.1% to 27.8%.

I figured the old chrome-text tutorial over at the Gimp User Group site could use both an update and an enhancement of technique. Mine is done on Gimp version 2.2.13.
