A little history --
1) I use Windows 2003 at Office.
2) I have tried many Linux distributions including Arch, Gentoo, Ubuntu and openSUSE and now have the perfect windows replacement at home -- PCLinuxOS.

A linux machine has a logging system which keeps track of what everything is doing. Anytime you authorize with sudo it gets logged. Anytime you (or someone else) connects via ssh it gets logged.

PCLinuxOS is another rising star in the Linux constellation. Based on Mandriva, PCLinuxOS aims to be a simple distribution that reaches to the masses, allowing Windows users to easily and painlessly convert.

A few weeks ago I posted a few articles about Open Source (Still afraid of Open Source?, Eating my own dog food, and Open Source and loving it!). I have now been Microsoft-Free at work for about 7 weeks. I have also found solutions for almost all of the initial hurdles I encountered in the first week.

OpenID is well on the way to being the defacto standard for identifying yourself across the Internet. With that settled, people are really starting to look hard at the next things we can do now that we know who everyone is. My favorite one (and one of the main reasons I got into this OpenID stuff) is portable social networking.
