Linux users have been aware for some time that Microsoft does not share their love for their favorite operating system, Linux. Microsoft has spent a lot of time, energy, and resources trying to marginalize Linux and the slew of FOSS software than has sprung up around it.

Those of us who remember the word Netscape will also remember the browser wars. Then microsoft spliced internet explorer into its operating system and set itself up for one of the most publicised antitrust cases of this century.

Martin Owens recently asked the question “Why do you like Microsoft?” It’s a pretty brave thing to ask an free/libre/open source Linux community like Ubuntu. While some have taken up the challenge, it made me pause and think for a minute.
