RMS: Foolish and unfriendly Debian

http://blog.mwolson.org

RMS (speaking in context of the Debian GFDL policy) : «Debian's policy is foolish and unfriendly to us. So we do not cater to it. If they don't like the results, they should change the policy. [...] Debian's policy starts from good motives, but they were too rigid in carrying them out, and reached a foolish conclusion.

Day 2 of the Trial: The Darl - transcript of his testimony, with line #s

http://www.groklaw.net

Let's continue with our look at the trial testimony in the SCO v. Novell litigation. This is day 2, April 30, when our star witness of the day is Darl McBride. When Can a Judge Change His Mind?

http://www.groklaw.net

An anonymous poster told us about a recent order from Judge Kimball in another case, unrelated to SCO, but one that references his own decision in SCO v. Novell. So I took a look at the order, and it answers a question I've had, namely, what if, at trial, a judge were to realize he'd made a mistake on an earlier ruling on summary judgment motions? Is it too late to fix it?

As such, I would like to set a little scenario up and then solicit responses from you as to how things might go. I have yet to receive any useful answers which consider all the aspects.

Speak out against ACTA

http://www.fsf.org

Although the proposed treaty’s title [Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement] might suggest that the agreement deals only with counterfeit physical goods (such as medicines), what little information has been made available publicly by negotiating governments about the content of the treaty makes it clear that it will have a far broader scope, and in particular, will deal with new tools targeting
