Asianux Consortium Announces Mobile Linux Product
The Asianux consortium, where Miracle Linux Corp of Japan, Red Flag Software Co Ltd of China and Haansoft Inc of South Korea are jointly developing Linux products, announced Oct. 15, 2007 that it will start shipping its "Asianux Mobile Midinux Edition" mobile Linux product in January 2008. Expected applications are mobile devices with Internet access capability.

My Classmate PCs arrived today from Intel and I finally had time to break them out tonight. You can find an image gallery here with first looks and some screenshots. Restricted Drivers Manager vs Envy
have done a bit of testing for Ubuntu 7.10 “Gutsy Gibbon” on some of our classroom machines this week. These machines are Dell Dimension 4600 with ATI Radeon video cards. Well, as has been my experience with ATI and nVidia with Linux they are a pain in the butt. …all ranting aside I wanted to share how I got them to work on Ubuntu 7.10.

OLPC developing new 'supercharger'
As One Laptop Per Child prepares to ship its highly anticipated XO laptops in two weeks, it is developing a "supercharger," a mass battery recharger that will draw power from cows and yo-yos to help the laptops run longer.
