Fedora likely to use Microsoft UEFI signing key

Very soon all computers will come with the "secure boot" signing mechanism. On x86 it can be disabled. Fedora seems to think users are too stupid to change one setting in BIOS.

Debian to work with FSF on freedom assessment

Debian Project Leader Zacchiroli: "I think we should either get Debian in Free Sosftware Foundation free-distros list or document (from our POV) why Debian is not there. I'm looking for volunteers interested in the topic and willing to participate in a joint Debian / FSF team that will work toward that goal without prejudices." Debian is upstream for about 50% of GNU/Linux distributions!

MicroCal Back To Life

Microcal was one of the very first scripts I ever shared with the public. It was even commercial back in 2004 (I don’t remember the price but I think it was $5). I doubt I have sold more than 3-4 of it before I decided to give it out for free. Now, nearly 8 years later it still has several hundred downloads every month.
