Review: Every few years or so, I come over all magnanimous and take the view that I really should try Linux again. After all, I am old and befuddled and it probably isn't as bad as I remember it being the last time I tried it. Wrong.

Ubuntu one is a free on line file sharing service offered by Canonical. The newly released ubuntu 9.10 has Ubuntu One tightly integrated with it. For using this service , you have to sign up with Ubuntu one. Click on this link and fill in the details to get a free account which can hold upto 2 GB. A mail will come to you mail account asking you to confirm the subscription.

Ubuntu 9.10 Required the following steps to Run Multimedia files like MP3, AVI, Mpeg, 3gp etc...

In Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala", the universe, multiverse and restricted repositories are activated by default.

For installing Multimedia files you need to add medibuntu repositories.

There is no default support od DVD in Ubuntu 9.10. You have to install the following for getting the DVD Support.

First You Have to add the medibuntu repositories
Howto add medibuntu repository

Then open a terminal and run the following Command

Follows the steps below to play DVD in your ubuntu 9.10 karmic Koala
1. Become root
$ sudo su -
2. Add medibuntu repositories to your sources.list.
