IBM, Red Hat, Novell, MySQL cautiously support GPLv3
Several large software companies seem satisfied with GPLv3, albeit cautious about adopting it (as corporations are wont to do). IBM intends to release some software under GPLv3, and MySQL says it will switch if GPLv3 is adopted widely.

Ubuntu is all about fixing bug #1 and I feel it's incredibly successful in that game. Ubuntu gets mainstream press coverage, hardware vendor support and popularity with not-so-geeky but experienced (and potentially influential) computer users to an extend unheard of in the free software world

The decision to switch to Ubuntu wasn’t a hard one. After all the problems I was having with Vista, it was a no brainer. I’m not going to re-hash all my woes with Vista in this article, you can read about them here and here oh yeah, and here. My only concern was putting my wife through another OS change.
