Emacs: Choosing between Org and Planner

http://sachachua.com

"jaaronfarr asked me why I switched from Planner to Org. Both of them are popular personal information managers for Emacs, and both of them have practically all the features I need. They both do a good job at helping people manage tasks, schedule, and notes. If you have a few months to explore this, I suggest that you try both for at least a month each. On the other hand, if you want quick results, some time thinking about how you plan can save you more time later..."

Track projects and time the easy way with jWorkSheet

http://www.linux.com

High-end project management tools and low-end to-do utilities are a dime a dozen these days. But what if you need something less complicated than a full-blown project management application, but more flexible than a simple to-do list?

Joomla!, a popular content management system (CMS) for Web portals, is easy to install and maintain, and has thousands of components, modules, and Mambots for almost every thinkable function a Web site could possibly need. All of the extensions are open source, as is the CMS itself. Here are a few extensions that I find indispensable.

Ruby Experts: Why They Are In Love With Ruby/Rails

http://www.odinjobs.com

"Ruby experts tell us why they are in love with Ruby/Rails. Recently, I attended a Ruby users group in Atlanta and I was very surprised to see over 50 people attending the usergroup on a weekday evening, and nearly all of them have been active members of the usergroup for at least over a year. I could tell that they loved Ruby/Rails unlike anything I have seen in the the C++/Java community (languages I work with). The expert panel below will tell us why they are "in love" with Ruby/Rails..."
