A More Detailed Survey on Planet GNOME, GNU, etc.
The author used SurveyMonkey to create a somewhat more in-depth questionnaire around the issues raised by Richard Stallman's calls for some sort of content control on Planet GNOME and the subsequent question of whether it's time for the GNOME project to examine its relationship with the GNU project.

Firefox founder suggests Bing over Google for better privacy
In a post to his personal blog Thursday morning, ten-year Mozilla vet Asa Dotzler quoted Schmidt in full before indicating that he's not too happy with the Googler's haughty take on data retention. "That was Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, telling you exactly what he thinks about your privacy," Dotzler says, after quoting the Google boss.

An interesting look at the Linux CLI-GUI debate once more
I believe both have a role to play in helping an end user make the most of their system. I don't however, believe a person's inability to use the CLI actually makes them dumb. Neither do I believe that you'd be diminishing your status by using point and click to get things done for the sheer reason that you're a CLI guru.

Review: Red Hat Virtual Experience 2009
Red Hat held the Red Hat Virtual Experience 2009 today and it was awesome. What was it? It was a completely online conference that offered everything you'd find at a traditional face-to-face show like the annual Red Hat Summit. I was hoping Red Hat would use this event to introduce / announce RHEV for Desktops but no such luck. I guess we'll have to continue to wait until January.
