Ubuntu Evolution

I have read this article and asking if Ubuntu has reached a plateau. I have read a few responses of what should be a desktop is or should be, an evolution or revolution. Well, the desktop war could never end just as real wars around the world come and go. But what is it to me? I am just an average end-user that preferred to try out Ubuntu. And Ubuntu calls itself the "Linux for human beings".
