Linux TV adverts FAIL
Oh dear. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and when the Linux Foundation announced a contest to produce a TV advert for Linux they meant well. It's just a shame the results don't end up doing Linux any favours. At all.

It happened again, this time at Tech Republic. John Dvorak’s Latest Eulogies to Microsoft
LIKE HIM or hate him, the man is considered influential and his words on Microsoft as of late have not been particularly encouraging. !Rant: Desktop Effects? Hell, yeah!
Last year I wrote a rather strong blog when I was frustrated, titled Desktop Effects? Never more. I officially apologise for my words and retract all I said. I have been running desktop effects for months now, without a hitch.
