Is OpenSolaris in hot water?
Here's how it works: Novell owns Unix's IP (intellectual property). SCO sold Unix's IP to Sun. Sun then included some Unix IP into Solaris. Finally, Sun open sourced Solaris as OpenSolaris. Sounds like trouble, doesn't it?

Microsoft supports Apache Foundation
"It seems Microsoft has contributed some money to the Apache Foundation. Unbelievable? [...] And, finally? Of course, they transform into a Free Software company. Which they will have to do, in any case. The company has at least two Ubuntu software projects — one for Netbooks, the other for Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) — that sound strikingly similar. Free and Open Source Software vs. Cloud Computing
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the point of proprietary network services (or cloud computing, or Software as a Service, if you prefer). Not when you have Free software as an alternative (“Free,” in this case, being analogous to open source or GNU/Linux).
