This is too reactive.
I prefer the more proactive approach of writing Free softwares.
With better softwares and the economic advantage in your favor, you can employ it to great devastating effects on your proprietary competitors.
Some proprietary competitors can and do complete with you on quality, but they can't beat the often cheaper Free software alternative.
I prefer building an economic infrastructure so Free software can crank out great Free softwares not at hobby time but work time.
