Microsoft’s plan for the future: The Ribbon
A few days ago, I saw the leaked screenshots from Windows 7. Microsoft Paint and Wordpad now “feature” the ribbon bar, just as Office ‘07 does. It finally occurred to me: Microsoft isn’t stupid. It’s not like they didn’t recognize that the switch to the ribbon in Office ‘07 (with no alternative interface) would drive users to OpenOffice.

Life without walls is the title of microsoft's new advertising campaign. It is yet another example of microsoft taking someone else's idea and trying to claim it as their own. This has put me in rant mode because for a long time there has been a quote floating around in the Linux camp. It goes like this "In a world without walls. Who needs windows and gates?"
