This could get interesting. HTC has filed its answer to Apple's complaint [PDFs] against them for patent infringement, with affirmative defenses and counterclaims.

Several months ago, a small company called Psystar began selling computers pre-installed with OS X, which violates Apple's license agreement. After some time, Apple sued Psystar and Psystar counter-sued Apple. Psystar’s counter-suit was thrown out, but, recently, they have been granted the chance to revise their arguments...

And so the suing continues. Apple and Nokia aren't particularly friendly towards one another as of late, with both companies accusing each other of infringing upon one another's patents.

Does the Microsoft-HTC patent agreement mean we can expect to see Microsoft weigh in on the Apple vs. HTC patent infringement matter? Or is the Microsoft-HTC deal just one more example (with more mobile-phone makers possibly to come) of Linux companies attempting to head off potential Microsoft lawsuits involving Linux?
