I'm at the Moscow airport getting ready to fly back to the United States. Before I leave, however, I figured it would be good to note (and then bury) three myths that I heard perpetuated by Microsoft at the Interop Moscow conference. They've been largely discredited elsewhere, but it appears Microsoft prefers to keep regurgitating the party line until abject ridicule sets in.

FUD has a shelf life

Corporate IT drones will generally swallow this kind of stuff, and over the years I've heard managers who ought to know better repeating stuff which clearly originated from Steve Ballmer. This kind of FUD can only last for so long though, and sooner or later its going to become glaringly obvious to most computer users that these things aren't true. By spreading these myths all Microsoft is doing is buying time.
