Remarkably confused and patronizing
It's in blog posts like this that you can see the confused thinking going on inside Microsoft with regard to free or open source. They seem to be making FOSS-type noises, presumably to try to attract or retain mind share amongst the more talented developers, but it still remains obvious that they're ideologically utterly opposed to software freedom in any serious sense.
