Citrix and Novell would be better off sharing a bed, argues a UNIX/Linux expert from The Register

A REGULAR reader has told us that "Novell backs Moblin 2.0 mobile Linux distro," pointing to one article from The Register. This seems awfully familiar and The Register seems to be neglecting any criticism.

Last week, AMD released register specifications for the RV630 and M56 parts into open source, thus allowing the OSS community to develop 2D (and theoretically 3D) drivers, given time. Current documentation for the project is available over at X.Org.

Clarification: If opposition to paying for unspecified software patents per GNU/Linux installation (even in countries that forbid software patents) is an ideal/purity, then The Register still misuses terminology

Via Dana & Matt, The Register reports that the Red Hat Exchange (RHX) "roars like a muted lamb". The Register's point is that RHX has met with a lukewarm reception to date.
After reading the following comment from Matt, with his VP of business development at Alfresco hat on, I wonder if The Register story is missing the point.

Over two years ago, Microsoft and Novell signed an interoperability deal. Part of this agreement was a patent deal that suggested that Linux infringed on Microsoft's IP. Since then, Microsoft has signed a number more of these deals with various companies, but the Novell one is still the most famous.
