The Debian project operates a number of free society projects under the Debian name. I believe that they don't get a lot of financial support from anybody.
OpenSuse should separate their project from Microsoft/Novell. If they do not, they can accept that their brand is losing credibility like SCO or Linspire.
It's a shame because the Suse distro has a venerable history. It's just too bad that Suse bears the yoke of Microsoft's software patent-trolling strategy.

Just because you dislike Novell doesn't mean that you should demonize all openSUSE users!
OpenSUSE's my favourite distro. Do you think it's possible to run a huge project such as openSUSE for free / without financing from a corporation?
