Shame.

That kind of vulgarity would've fit in great with us Linsux.org gus.

Hmm..

Why do I get the feeling that the only reason you disliked Sanjeev's post is that he didn't post it in Linsux, and not because he insulted not only RMS but the FOSS community as whole?

Er...

The guy is totally entitled to his own opinion, no matter how vulgar or offensive it may be.

More importantly, why are you acting all surprised that somebody dropped the F bomb? Is this some kind of secret operation to plant moral absolutists in the world that can't stand a little foul humor, even though it radiates through society on a daily basis? This is barely even news to me. Somebody got mad on the internet, ooh, ooh! Are you going to tell his mommy? The only important part of this article is that he's a Mono developer. Guess what? Microsoft developers swear. Apple developers swear. GNU, Linux, BSD, AROS, UNIX, Solaris, Flash, Java, AIR, Gnome, KDE, C++, C, and Python developers all swear. My point is, this article makes a big deal about the fact that somebody let their tongue slip (metaphorically speaking, I assume this was typed on the web)

THAT is why I voted this article down. It's nothing but fuddy-duddy hand-waving. It is judgemental, and demonized De Izaca and the other guy. They are people, with all their flaws and problems like anyone else. If you get past the fact that they develop projects you don't particularly care for, maybe you'll realise they're just human beings, and don't need your scruitiiny and judgements. They have lives to lead, and the judgemental statements in this rag and others just tears down that fact to turn them into "The Enemy"

Well..

> "More importantly, why are you acting all surprised that somebody dropped the F bomb?"

No, I'm at all surprised.
I'm just disgusted that this guy showed no respect for anybody whatsoever. He didn't even respect a man who's at the age of his grand grand father and who has so much experience in the field enough to make Sanjeev look like a little baby in the cradle.

If Sanjeev didn't want to sound professional in his criticism, he could at least tried to sound polite while aiming his words at one of the most respectful figures in the IT faculty as a whole. And being out of his mood when he wrote the article doesn't give him an excuse either. Because he could simply waited until his mind is clear again so that he could see and measure what he's writing.
