The ntfs-3g driver is an open source, GPL licensed, third generation Linux NTFS driver which was implemented by the Linux-NTFS project. It provides full read-write access to NTFS, excluding access to encrypted files, writing compressed files, changing file ownership, access right.

NTFS support has been slow in coming to Linux. But new drivers are now available that enable you to read from, and even to write to, NTFS partitions, including removable media formatted with NTFS. We show you how.

If you want to Mount NTFS VMware Virtual Disk Image (vmdk) read/write follow this procedure.Vmware server comes with a little utility to mount the VMware virtual file systems called vmware-mount.pl. This utility works pretty well but mounts all NTFS partitions as Read Only!

Pardus is a Linux distribution with roots in the National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology (UEKAE), Turkey. It is one of many distributions that does not have support for the Linux Logical Volume Manager (LVM). However, that is about to change because YALI, the installation program in the next stable version, Pardus 2011, will have full support for LVM.
