Ubuntu Netbook Edition used to be called Ubuntu Netbook Remix, but Canonical changed the name once this distro became an official edition of Ubuntu.

Note that the GNOME panel is locked in Ubuntu Netbook Edition 10.04 so you need to unlock it. As far as I know, this will only work if you installed Ubuntu Netbook Edition, not if you installed Ubuntu desktop and then installed the netbook interface."

According to this blueprint, folks at Canonical are getting ready to help "Ubuntu Netbook Remix" change to "Ubuntu Netbook Edition" status.
