The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) recently appointed Jeff Jaffe as their new Chief Executive Officer. Jeff had most recently worked as Chief Technology Officer at Novell. W3C is an international community that sets standards for the web. Its work has had significant positive impact, and has helped free the web from proprietary standards.
Nostalgia. I’m writing as I complete my four years at Novell. A great deal achieved—but—as with any company still more to do. Here are my thoughts as I move to my next opportunity.

The GNOME Foundation Board regretfully announces that Jeff Waugh will be stepping down from the board in order to focus on work and other projects. The board thanks Jeff for his years of service to the board and the community, and wishes him success in his future work both inside and outside of GNOME. Jeff leaves big shoes to fill.
