For Unicode 5.2, the core specification is no longer just a delta document applied to the book; instead, the entire core specification,with all textual changes integrated, will be available on the Unicode site.

FreeBSD security update

The FreeBSD developers have released new updates to their operating system to close three vulnerabilities. Users with restricted privileges can reportedly exploit all three holes to elevate their privileges. One of the vulnerabilities is caused by a design flaw recently also discovered and fixed in the kernel. It allows programming flaws to cause a NULL pointer dereference.

Basic apt key management

Ubuntu's keyserver, keyserver.ubuntu.com, has a lot of problems lately. I was trying to add the Pidgin repository to work around bug #389322 but kept getting timeout errors from the server. One of my systems did successfully get the key so all I had to do was transfer it to the others. These are the commands you can use to do the same.
