OpenBSD: The installer isn't easy, but the documentation carries the day
If you gripe about a console-based installer, even those as relatively "easy" as Debian, the alternative disc for Ubuntu or even Slackware, then doing a BSD installation isn't for you. (Actually, it is, because DesktopBSD and PC-BSD, both of which I've also installed, make it much, much easier.)

Know your code, know open source

First look at Ulteo Desktop
Using VNC to remotely access your desktop, applications, and documents sounds like a great solution when you are out and about, but it has a few significant drawbacks: you have to leave your machine turned on, the VNC protocol is not secure, and often you need a dedicated VNC client to access your desktop. Ulteo, the company started by Gaël Duval of Mandriva fame, is set to offer an alternative solution.

What is this book about? Well, if you are new to GNU/Linux, and wish to hack AVR microcontrollers, this book should help you do it.
But then, why is it not called `Hack AVR microcontrollers with Debian GNU/Linux’? Well, that was what I thought I would call it, but then I changed my mind.
Maybe, I can show how to design circuits with gEDA, build PCB’s, simulate circuits, do mathematical computations … stuff like that. In that case, this becomes a more general book.
