As we approach the launch of Ubuntu 8.10, it's time to create space for future plans, and so I'm writing to introduce you to The Jaunty Jackalope. Jaunty, the code name for what will most likely become Ubuntu 9.04, will be the focus of our efforts from November through to April next year.

This tutorial will show you how to remaster your ubuntu 9.04 jaunty using a jaunty iso file.

Ubuntu 9.04 is the upcoming version of the Ubuntu operating system. The common name given to this release from the time of its early development was “Jaunty Jackalope”.

The Ubuntu project has detailed plans for the April 2009 version of its Linux distribution, continuing its habit of naming its software after animals by dubbing Ubuntu 9.04 "The Jaunty Jackalope".

Ubuntu 9.04, the Jaunty Jackalope was officially released on April 23rd 2009, and had much to live up to. For starters, the impending release of Microsoft Windows 7 has users bashing Ubuntu’s stale default interface.

Now that the feature freeze for Ubuntu 8.10 is on, planning has begun for the next version: Ubuntu 9.04 “Jaunty Jackalope”.

The final and stable version of Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty Jackalope" is about to be unleashed.

With the April 23 release date getting ever closer, I decided to test Alpha 4 of Ubuntu 9.04 - code-named Jaunty Jackalope -  to get a feel for the forthcoming operating system.

I once wrote a tutorial here on installing Conky on Ubuntu. Unfortunately, that guide will not work on the latest version of Ubuntu, which is 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope). That’s why I'm going to make an update on that one with this post.
