Indie game developer Hemisphere games have just released a Linux version of their DRM free game Osmos complete with demo. Your objective is to grow by absorbing other motes. Propel yourself by ejecting matter behind you. But be wise: ejecting matter also shrinks you. Relax… good things come to those who wait.

There's no question that gaming on the Android platform has heretofore been relatively underwhelming, but that looks like it's all about to change. It seems that Sony Ericsson -- a company that has yet to even introduce an Android 2.0 device -- is at work on a project to redefine gaming on Google's mobile platform.

Building on the last post, I welcome the opportunity to share some of my experiences with deploying Linux in schools. It is a very broad topic however I will stay with the previous outline. First of all, it is a matter of migrating schools to Linux, not selling them. Second, the approach is different based on whether the school in located in a developing country, the EU or North America.

A little over a month ago we released the Linux port of Osmos, promising statistics on our sales and downloads. We wanted to find out - from a financial perspective, for our studio - “is it worth porting games to Linux?”

Linux and Mac users alike will both know that Windows has by far the lion's share of the computer gaming market... However, I believe that from an architectural point of view, Windows is not the best platform for gaming. I

One of the reasons why people don’t shift to Linux platform is Gaming. The Linux community has been aware of these problems infesting Linux adoption & have been encouraging developers to develop games for Linux.

The games in this second Humble Indie Bundle include Braid, Cortex Command, Mechanarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans. The game titles aren't too amazing, but they're all natively available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.
