Linus Torvalds, founder of the Linux kernel, made a startling comment at LinuxCon in Portland, Ore., on Monday: "Linux is bloated." Has Linux failed?

The Linux Foundation will be calling its first LinuxCon conference from September 21 through 23 in Portland OR. Linus Torvalds and Mark Shuttleworth will be among the speakers and Linux Magazine Online will do a live stream, free for the keynotes.

The inaugural LinuxCon organized by the Linux Foundation is set to become the biggest Linux gathering of 2009. Scheduled for next month, September 21-23, in Portland, Oregon, the event will draw some of the best and the brightest that the Linux community has to offer. No less than Linus Torvalds and Mark Shuttleworth among other industry experts will speak at LinuxCon.

Linux Foundation's inaugural LinuxCon event is scheduled for Sept. 21-23, 2009, in Portland, Oregon. LinuxCon intends to draw a mix of end-users, administrators, and top Linux developers, with speakers including Linus Torvalds, Mark Shuttleworth, and Greg Kroah-Hartman.
