Texmaker is an editor for the document markup language LaTeX. It lets you concentrate on the content of a document, while the underlying LaTeX engine takes care of the layout. Whether you are experienced with LaTeX or just starting out, Texmaker makes LaTeX easier to tame. It is GPL-licensed, cross-platform (running on Linux, Unix, Windows, and Mac OS X), and extremely stable.

Most of the research workers and Engineering Students need to make their Project Work and thesis work in Latex. Now Latex is not a nightmare, Lot of Graphical Front end softwares are available for Latex.

There are several reasons why one should prefer LATEX to a WYSIWYG word processor like Microsoft Word: portability, lightness, security are just a few of them (not to mention that LATEX is free).

LaTeX, pronounced “La-Tec”, is a document preparation language that treats creating many types of document files like constructing a shell script.
