PatientOS Open Source EMR v0.99 "Falchion" Edition Released

PatientOS EMR is an open source health care information system with a comprehensive toolkit to customize the EMR to meet the needs of Hospitals, Clinics and Businesses seeking to integrate an EMR with their software.

PatientOS is an Open Source EMR for Hospitals, Physician Offices and other Healthcare Facilities. Version 0.85 brings the following features:

So, I needed an application that could load a couple of pictures, showing two pictures side-by-side for visual comparison and at the same time presenting the more important meta-data attributes such as focal length, exposure time, ISO and aperture.

Akaza Research, LLC announced today that it has been awarded a two-year Phase II SBIR grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue development of the open source clinical trials data capture system, OpenClinica.

I took a look at Kompare, a graphical utility for KDE which allows you to compare two files side-by-side, a bit like a graphical version of the diff tool. A similar application for GNOME is Meld.

Here is an interesting side effect to watch out for if you have enabled the Compiz-fusion wobbly windows visual effect. When a window is placed on a certain corner of the desktop, almost overlapping the next desktop, it develops this nervous twitch. (See the video)

Many people here use GNU Screen, and I've not seen extensive coverage of the things you can do with the status-line in the past, so I thought a brief overview of a couple of visual settings wouldn't be amiss. Read on for more details.

Today Dan Kegel released a new and improved WineTricks that brings in support for Microsoft's Visual C++ libraries. With the help of the Visual C++ libraries most small .net applications should start to run in Wine, this update also has a fix for a multiple selection bug that some people have run into.
